about

Actionesse is a band from Seattle, WA. Coming off of their involvement in the Four Corners: A Split compilation and a slew of live shows, they have teamed up with producer Ahren Lanfor to record a set of brand new songs. Sink your teeth into Actionesse’s finest delicacy yet: Mignon.

"In Actionesse’s new EP, the band has clutched the reigns of their signature nihilistic party-punk style with a sense of focus, refinement, and fearless exploration. With the EP’s opener, “This Is What My Anxiety Sounds Like” we have Actionesse doing what they do well — breakneck punk rock chaos drenched in brass horns and attitude. Other songs dig deeper and experiment with the band’s dynamics, including the EP's brooding and suspenseful closer “Shark Hunting.” Engineer Ahren Lanfor's crisp production style keeps the band’s wonderfully deranged personality front and center throughout this EP. As you are jerked and jolted through the world of Actionesse, “Mignon" feels less like a roller coaster than it does a haunted carnival ride that’s about to explode."
- Ryan Alexander from Crystal Desert

Track Name: This Is What My Anxiety Sounds Like
If you don't trust me
You can just throw these words away
I'm sitting still, feeling sick
Choking on the smoke and the fumes

All eyes, all ears
Rest upon a right thing to be said
Or did,
And I'd listen

Oh, yes, I'd listen
If all our atoms, they line up
I bet I'd pass right through you
When you asked me who I thought I was
"I always thought I was you"

Drown in this ocean with me
I'll teach these blind fish to see
When I ask the world of you
I say please
Track Name: The Imposter
Water in my lungs
Water in my eyes
You will know the truth
But it'll all be lies
Though silent as
It seems to be
You will know the truth
And it'll set you free

Water in my lungs
Water in my eyes
You will know the truth
But it'll all be lies
Though silent as
It seems to be
You will know the truth
And it'll set you free

This beast never sleeps
It only hungers more
It only hungers more

If you never ask
And say you ever knew
That the person you are
Is really you
So you don your disguise
The imposter hides inside

This beast never sleeps
It only hungers more
It only hungers more
Track Name: Pseudosupervillain
You got it
You're a natural
But I see you have your doubts

You should, you should be embarrassed
All the things that you say
You treat people so low
Competitive spirit shows
Always striving for control

I'm in this
To win this
What's in my heart's not simple
I come in demanding respect

Trouble, let's be friends
But I don't see us as the same man
Maybe I'm gettin' old
Maybe I'm gettin' old
Maybe I'm gettin' old
Or maybe I just don't know
Track Name: Phil's Lament
...
Track Name: Shark Hunting
I have no fear of its teeth
I'll poison the ocean
I'll poison the sea

I do not envy it in flight
I'll poison the air
I'll poison the sky

You might call this revenge
But what I fear is not my friend

Said you might call this revenge
But what I fear is not my friend

I have no fear of its teeth
I'll poison the ocean
I'll poison the sea

I do not envy it in flight
I'll poison the air
I'll poison the sky

You might call this revenge
But what I fear is not my friend

You might call this revenge
But what I fear is not my friend
